The Intrepid

Hey everyone  long time no see. I took a long long break from blogging. Today is a special post about the cool battle ship " The Intrepid". Why I'm doing this? Its because I recently went there and  talking about what the Intrepid did for us and the place in the ship. Basically the Intrepid is a fighter plane that fought in World War 2. The Intrepid is huge. It is 912 feet by 192 feet. Amazing isn't  it. Also the Intrepid was launched in 1943, April 26.  So the history of the USS Intrepid(full name) is the fourth navy ship ever launched. It was used to fight in World War II. The Intrepid suffered so much during her war.She undergo many repair after being struck by a torpedo.This ship also help us. Due to its massive endurance  it could withstand a powerful blow. Not only helped us in war also became part of the US Atlantic Fleet. Also became the head quarters of the FBI after the 9/11 attacks. In 1986 it was declared to be a historic landmark. After that it was docked in New York on Pier 86. Below is the picture of the Intrepid in battle.

Next I'll talk about one deck in the Intrepid. I'll talk about the hanger deck. The Berthing deck is a place in the Intrepid where the soldiers would take rest and hangout.Three soldiers would have to share one locker. The beds would be so uncomfortable because it was made out of material that would be to itchy. Since there were no air condition the nights would be very hot for the soldiers. The purpose of the Berthing deck is to relax the soldier to hangout.

During my trip I experienced how the Intrepid fought in battle. I saw they used planes on the ship to ride and attack the foe. This is important because to learn about this will give people an interest. Also where and how they use the decks.

• Arrived at pearl harbor to prepare for the invasion
• Truk. Went to the secret base of the Japanese
• Went to San Francisco to prepare for post war
• Eniwitok. Arrived there to continue to fight and make a move
• Mindanaeo  to strike the air fields
• Nuzon to attack the Japanese
• Visayan Sea to plan for attacks

So my trip was awesome. The Intrepid did many things for us. This is how tough it is.
